Bequest Information

The main objective of New Zealand Warbirds Association is to preserve and operate ex-military aircraft In flying condition for the enjoyment and education of present and future New Zealanders.

As a not-for-profit organisation, New Zealand Warbirds depends heavily upon on its members and the public to provide the necessary funding to pursue the main aim to “Keep ‘em Flying,” so that the public of New Zealand will continue to see and savour our flying heritage both in terms of military and classical aviation.

The cost of doing so becomes an increasing burden every year as these aircraft grow older and additional maintenance is required. Additionally, as the pilots with the much-needed skills to fly these aircraft become increasingly scarce, it is imperative we train a new breed of pilot who will be able to fly these aircraft safely and to present them in a manner befitting their original role.

A major concern is the housing of the fleet. Ardmore is becoming an increasingly complex place to hangar these aircraft and the time is fast approaching when NZ Warbirds will need to build new hangar facilities to house and maintain these aircraft.

Such major development is expected to cost some millions of dollars.

To fund future development, the aviation minded public of New Zealand are being asked to consider bequeathing funds to the New Zealand Warbirds Association as part of their Wills/Statement of Wishes. The process will be very straight forward but please be aware that any review of your current Will does incur a legal cost.

Print off the Bequest Authorisation form and fill out as appropriate. This can be then be discussed and lodged with your legal representative. There will also be a Bequest Confirmation form to fill out with your name (as the donor) and your legal representative confirming you have made a bequest to New Zealand Warbirds. No amounts are to be disclosed - it will simply be a record that you have made a bequest and we would like to acknowledge your generosity by thanking you for your consideration.

Alternatively, you may contact the NZ Warbirds office (09 298 9207) and request a copy of these forms.

We thank you in advance for any consideration you might make towards this very worthy endeavour; a consideration which will allow these jewels of the sky to fly for many more years to be enjoyed by the generations of New Zealanders to follow in our footsteps.
